To paraphrase a much better artist, Xamag-chang ([link])--seriously, go check her out if you haven't!--FAKE SCREENSHOTS ARE SO FAKE

XD I just really felt like making one of these--partly for fun, but mostly fro practice. I want to draw more "action" scenes, and I'm going to have to do this sort of things in terms of practical application later, and I absolutely SUCK at backgrounds. So I figure for a second try it wasn't too bad, and I will keep on practicing.

Here's Karkat's planety thing in the medium, the Land of Pulse and Haze! I know that he only uses that weapon before he meets up with Terezi and comes back to this place, but I was so done with the RED AND BLACK color scheme I was like, "NO MORE!!!" These trolls with their grays....

I really wanted to do an action-y thing with Karkat specifically. Most of the other trolls actually get into full-on-fights with each other, and while Karkat is easily the least bloodthirsty and violent despite his attitude and pretense at it, he, just like all the others, is competent enough to MAX OUT HIS ECHELADDER, AND of all the trolls, he was the first one to attack the Black King!

It came out blurrier than I wanted and I went a little nuts with the cell shading (URHG, must practice more shading self control...), but this was seriously a blast to make. I love drawing Karkat and Terezi. They're just so much fun.

I used this tutorial! ([link])

Your cell-shading has cleaned up quite a bit which is nice. I think something that is simple in concept that would really help solidify your drawings is just to have a much more confident outline. Make your outline 2-4px thicker than your interior lines. It might also help to work HUGE (400%) - it helps smooth things out when you reduce it to viewing size.

These are great poses and this is a really cool action shot. You improve with every picture! Keep it up Ash! :))
